One of many pubs that make the claim "oldest pub in Tunbridge Wells", The Cloven Skull is located in the heart of Pantiles Market. Its dark atmospheric interior is punctuated by hundreds of small items of historic local tunnel excavation equipment, creatively displayed around the pub.

Serving a fine selection of real ales, including local brews, Rat Ringer and Calverley Bark, the Skull is a favourite haunt of beer enthusiasts. The food is also outstanding and regularly features in the Subterranean's Gastro Pub Top 10. Friday night at the Skull is lard wrestling night and the pub hosts one of the best rings in the southeast, with the Skull's proprietor, Roman Hammer, calling the matches.
